I Finally Did It: My First Travel Guide Is Out – And It’s All About Albania

After visiting over 40 countries, after countless DMs, texts, and late-night convos where friends and family kept telling me “Talla, you HAVE to share this,” after years of creating mini guides just for fun — I’ve finally done it.

✅ I created my own website
✅ I published my very first travel guide
✅ And I’m putting it out into the world — even though I’m not famous, not viral, not “influencer-approved”

Just me, my words, and a deep love for travel.

🛫 From Mini-Guides to a +30 pages Travel Book

Let’s rewind a bit. For years, I loved making short one-pagers for friends visiting Ghana, or crafting tiny travel plans for my family when we were exploring a new country together. I never saw it as content — just something I genuinely loved doing.

Creating, planning, curating — that’s my jam.

People kept saying:

“You should start your own blog.”
“Turn this into something bigger.”
“You’re so good at this, share it with others!”

But honestly? I hesitated.
Maybe I was lazy. Maybe scared. Maybe I thought no one would care.
But one day, I stopped waiting.

🎉 So Here I Am: One Website, One Travel Guide

And honestly? I couldn’t be prouder. It’s not perfect yet — but that’s okay.
Because guess what? I built my own website! 🎉
Even with just 86 followers on Instagram (half of them probably my cousins 😅)
Even without a clear idea of where this will all lead…

What matters is: I started.
I’m no longer stuck in the thinking-planning-dreaming loop —
this is no longer motion, it’s action (hi Atomic Habits by James Clear 👋).

I created something that reflects my vision of travel — real, soulful, budget-friendly…
but with a sprinkle of “I’m worth it” glam now and then (because yes, L’Oréal said it first 💅).

And the first destination I chose to celebrate all this?
Albania.

Albania has this wild charm. For a few years now, people have been whispering about it as “the next big summer spot.”But even now, it still feels like a secret.

And I love that.

I love writing about places that are beautiful, generous, a little unknown — but so, so worth it. Albania checked all the boxes.
Plus, it was my most recent trip — a beautiful summer getaway with my family. I had everything fresh: the best beaches, the must-see towns and the restaurants.
